Spreadsheet importing
When a spreadsheet (.xlsx) gets added as a questionnaire, Conveyor can automatically import the spreadsheet, identify questions across tabs, and answer them. This process usually takes a few minutes.
In addition to this auto-import option, you have the option of:
- Selecting specific tabs to auto-import (if you only want some and not all)
- Intervening and manually mapping (if you find that easier)

Best Practice: Google Sheets
For Google sheets, we recommend downloading as an .xlsx file and then uploading to Conveyor.
Best Practice: Excel Macros
Conveyor only supports macro files (.xlsm) natively for SIG Lite questionnaires. In all other instances we recommend the following steps: 1) Upload the .xlsm file to Google Drive 2) Under the File menu, click 'Save as Google Sheets' 3) In the converted file, download as .xlsx
Alternatively, you can just save as a .xlsx file directly from the Excel workbook (if not using GDrive)
Selecting tabs
When you add an Excel file into Conveyor to be uploaded, you will immediately see a preview of the potential tabs to automatically scan. Whichever you select will be automatically scanned for questions. You can still manually add questions from tabs that you do not select.

Manually adding questions
For any tab that is not selected for auto-import, you have the option of defining the pattern and selecting specific questions on that tab to import.
- First, click a Question
- Next, click where the "main" answer should go. This is often a dropdown (like "Yes/No"), but could also be a free response column
- Optionally, click an additional cell (e.g., for "Comments"). You can also click "Skip" at this point.

Adjusting the questions that ConveyorAI found
For any tab where you asked ConveyorAI to auto-import, you have the option of adjusting the set of extracted questions before ConveyorAI answers them. You can simply select questions to remove them, or select+drag to remove large swaths of questions.
That's it!
Once you click "Confirm and answer" (or "Skip" if you were in a hurry...) ConveyorAI will get to answering. You don't have to wait at this point - you'll get a notification like so once ConveyorAI is done answering.

"Overview" of the spreadsheet in-app
The "Overview" tab gives you a summary of which questions were answered in what state of confidence, and lets you remap questions if need be.
Summary of answered questions
The Overview tab summarizes how many questions were found, and how confident ConveyorAI was in answering each of them. The questions are also color-coded in the Preview pane.

Clicking a status in the summary will open the Answer page, to a filtered view of those questions.

Clicking on a question will open the Answer page, scrolled to display that question.
Adjusting the questions to be answered
If you need to adjust the selection of questions that Conveyor answered, click "Add/Remove Questions" in the upper-right corner of the Overview pane.

Click "Add/Remove Questions" to adjust the selected questions.
In the Add/Remove questions view, you can then click (and optionally drag) to add or remove a block of questions.

Click (and optionally drag) to add or remove questions.
When adding questions, Conveyor will, by default, assume the pattern is the same as other patterns in the workbook. If you need to define a new pattern for a group of questions, click "Set Pattern."

Click "Set Pattern" to define a new pattern.
When setting a pattern:
- First, click a Question
- Next, click where the "main" answer should go. This is often a dropdown (like "Yes/No"), but could also be a free response column
- Optionally, click an additional cell (e.g., for "Comments"). You can also click "Skip" at this point.

After tagging the Question and First Answer, you can either pick a Second Answer location, or skip it.
After you define a pattern, Conveyor will try to find obvious examples of other questions that follow the same pattern. You can accept or reject these suggestions.

At this point, you have defined a new pattern, and can continue to click (and optionally drag) to add or remove questions of this pattern.
You can also clear an entire tab by clicking "Clear Tab".

Click "Clear Tab" to clear all selected questions from a tab.
The counter in the upper-right will tell you how many questions you have added, and how many you have removed. Click "Confirm Changes" once you are done.

Click "Confirm Changes" or "Cancel" to exit the Add/Remove Questions view.
