Blocking domains
Time to complete: 5 minutes
Prerequisites: Trust Center created in Designer
Overview
Blocking domains helps prevent unwanted or low-quality access requests to your Trust Center. You can automatically deny requests from both free email providers or from specific domains (such as competitors) before they ever reach your review queue.
Blocking free domains
Conveyor can help enforce that your customers request access only using their business email addresses by preventing access requests from free email domains (for example, gmail.com or yahoo.com).
Enable free-domain blocking
- Open Organization Preferences.
- Select Trust Center Blocked Domains.
- Turn on Block free email domains.
- Save your changes
Once enabled, if a visitor attempts to request access using a free email domain, they’ll see a message explaining that validation of their email address failed and they need to try again with a work-issued email address.

Navigate to Organization Preferences by selecting your organization in the upper left.

Use the Trust Center Blocked Domains section to configure which domains can request access to your Trust Center.

Enable this toggle to automatically block access requests from free email providers like Gmail and Yahoo.

Visitors are notified immediately when their request can’t proceed because they are utilizing a free domain and are prompted to enter a work-issued email.
Blocking specific domains
You can also block specific domains from accessing your Trust Center. This is useful for preventing competitors or other known domains that you want to restrict from submitting access requests.
Add blocked domains
- Open Organization Preferences.
- Select Trust Center Blocked Domains.
- Enter one or more domains you want to block. (Separate domains with commas or new lines.)
- Save your changes.
Subdomains will also be blocked, so if you listed "competitor.com", a request with an email of "[email protected]" will also be blocked.
Requests from blocked domains:
- Automatically appear in Audience → Requests
- Have a Request Status of Closed
- Include a note indicating the request was blocked due to a domain restriction
- Do not notify the user that their request was denied

Add one or more domains here to automatically block access requests from those organizations.

Requests from blocked domains are automatically closed and clearly labeled for auditing.

Visitors from blocked domains are not notified that they have been automatically denied access.
Common questions
What domains do you consider "free domains"?
Conveyor maintains a list of thousands of free domains. If you have a question regarding if a specific domain is on this list or see one that you think should be included in our list, please let us know.
Can I approve a blocked request?
No. If you no longer want to block requests from a specific domain, remove the domain from the blocked list and ask the requester to request again.
Does blocking domains affect existing Connections?
No, domain blocking only applies to new access requests and does not impact any existing Connections from the blocked domain.
Does blocking a domain prevent someone sending an invite to that organization?
No, users from these domains can still be manually invited to your Trust Center. This only denies their requests to access the Trust Center.
