Slack

Conveyor AI isn’t responding in Slack

What you’re seeing: Messages to the AI in a Slack channel get no reply.

Why it happens: The ConveyorBot app hasn’t been added to that specific channel or the app isn’t fully installed.

How to fix it:

  1. Verify the Slack app install in Account Settings → Organization preferences → Integration configuration.
  2. Add ConveyorBot to the target channel (in Slack, open the channel → Add apps → select ConveyorBot).
  3. See Slack integration to re-install or update settings if needed.

“User not found” error in Slack when asking the AI

What you're seeing: Slack returns a “User not found” message when a user interacts with the AI.

Why it happens: The user doesn’t have access to Conveyor or their Slack email address doesn’t match the email used for their Conveyor account.

How to fix it:

  1. Confirm the user has a Conveyor account with the correct email in Account Settings → Account Management.
  2. Ensure the user’s Slack email matches their Conveyor account email.
  3. If needed, update the user’s email in Conveyor or adjust their Slack profile email to match.
  4. Re-try the question in Slack.
