✅ Exporting Questionnaires

Overview

Once you’ve reviewed and finalized your answers, Conveyor gives you several ways to export them back to your customer. Your export options depend on the original questionnaire format and whether it came from a file or a customer portal.

📄 Exporting the original format

Spreadsheets

If your questionnaire started as a spreadsheet, Conveyor can export your answers back into the original file, preserving all formatting, tab names, and styles. Simply click Export to Original download the file.

Word Documents and PDFs

If you uploaded a Word document, ConveyorAI will export your answers directly into the original file wherever possible. When a question’s location isn’t clear, ConveyorAI appends a summary table at the end with the remaining question/answer pairs. Because we're manipulating the source document, these exports can take a few minutes.

Note about PDFs:

PDFs cannot be exported back to PDF because of their non-editable format. Instead, Conveyor exports your responses as a Word document in a clean table layout.

If preserving layout is important, try converting your PDF to Word before importing. Once exported, you can re-convert to PDF before sending it back to the customer.

🌐 Exporting to customer portals

Exporting Directly

If your questionnaire originated from a customer portal and that portal is one of our Fully Automated Portals, Conveyor can export answers directly back into that portal. When you’re ready, click Export to [Portal Name] to push final answers back.

On the modal that pops up you can decide between two options:

• Fill only unanswered questions - If someone has already started filling out this portal questionnaire, choose this option to avoid overwriting their questions.
• Fill all questions, including overwriting existing answers - Choose this option if you're confident you can replace the current content in the portal with what you've reviewed and edited in Conveyor.

Quick Note

This process will take a few minutes but after a few minutes the answers will show up in the source portal. You can then submit the portal like you normally would.

Exporting Through Browser Extension

If the portal your using for a specific questionnaire is only Partially Automated you'll need to utilize the Browser Extension to fill in the questions. Read more here 👉

📊 Exporting a CSV (all formats)

Regardless of how the questionnaire was imported, you can always export a simplified .csv file of all answers.
This export includes three columns:

Click Export .CSV from the overflow menu (⋯) in the top-right of your questionnaire to download this file.
