✨ One-off question answering
Time to complete: 2–5 minutes (for your first question)
Prerequisites: Your Knowledge Library has at least one AI-usable source.
Overview
A one-off question is a single security or compliance question you need answered right now — from a sales call, an email, a customer's portal — without setting up a whole questionnaire.
Ask one anywhere in the list below and you get the same thing: ConveyorAI drafts an answer from your knowledge and shows you the sources it used so you can check its work if you want to.
Every one-off answer is a draft. Make sure you read it before it goes to a customer.
Get answers to your one-off questions wherever you are. ConveyorAI is available across multiple platforms and integrations.

Your customers can ask, too.
Visitors to your Trust Center can ask one-off questions through the Trust Center Agent. Those answers are governed by your own safety thresholds and show up in the same reporting as the questions your team asks.
What's True Everywhere
- Sources are always shown. Every answer lists what it drew from, tagged by type (Curated Q&A, Past Answer, Document, External Source).
- No answer means no coverage. If ConveyorAI can't find enough supporting content, it won't invent an answer.
- Answers are drafts. ConveyorAI composes from your knowledge but can get a wrong answer if the sources it pulls are out of date or inaccurate. Read before sending.
Common Questions
How is this different from a questionnaire?
A questionnaire is a document you import, work through, and export. A one-off question is a single question answered on the spot, with nothing to import or export. For more details, see What is Questionnaire Automation?.
Will I get the same answer in Slack as in the web app?
All answer generation in Conveyor runs on the same ConveyorAI backend and use the same knowledge. The differences are where you ask and how you scope products. Answers you get back in Slack may vary depending on the permissions of the user asking or how ConveyorAI was set up in that specific channel. Answers you get back in-app and via the Chrome extension use your own permissions, so should be similar, though AI answers by nature vary from question to question.
Can I control which answers my team can send to customers?
Yes, for Slack and the Trust Center Agent, via safety thresholds and escalation to approvers. See Answer one-off questions in Slack and Enabling the Trust Center Agent.
The answer wasn't right. What now?
Start with Troubleshooting inaccurate answers. Most bad answers trace back to a content gap or a conflict in the Knowledge Library.

- Search your Knowledge Library — when you want to find existing content instead of drafting something new.
